The Who - Hyde Park Calling - 2 July 2006
Having only just recovered from seeing Roger Waters performing Dark Side of the Moon the night before, we returned to Hyde Park to see The Who.

It was a great set - for two old codgers they were really full of life! Zack Starkey and Pino Palladino were also good but clearly took a supporting role as Townshend and Daltrey jumped about the stage, and bantered away. They were having a good time - and it was infectious!

In fact this is the view without magnification, the viewing platform wasn't too far back but it was at an angle.

The large screens helped us follow the action, particularly as we couldn't see the stage backdrops from where we were.

As it darkened I was more able to pick out detail from the stage with my camera.

Pete Townshend has still got it, with full arm swings as he strikes his guitar...

...and Roger Daltrey still enjoys twirling his microphone in the air!
I was surprised at how much fun the gig was and wholeheartedly recommend the Who as a live act. If you get the chance to see them, you must!
