Fitting In
"Pylons have always had to compete for space in the built environment. To some they are undesirable, to others objects of curiosity. Where they exist they are often taken for granted and worked around, such as the one in a children's playground. They become part of the landscape, as illustrated by the cormorants perching on a tower. Many of the pylons featured here have now been taken down to make way for the Olympic Park - the ultimate sacrifice of 'fitting in'."
